“The bed was fine and we slept well. The handicapped bathroom was poorly converted and, after a shower, the floor was in about 1 inch of water. They vacuumed it and brought towels for the second shower -to build a dam! Didn’t work as the shower drain water came up in the unfinished drain of the bathroom floor. They came to pick up all the towels, give us new towels and tissues as the tissue box had only had 2 tissues left when we arrived. The bottom of the bathroom wall looked like it was removed……

“It’s an older building, and you can tell. The elevator scared me, the doors didn’t want to close at one point and the noise was a bit unnerving. The rooms were clean but didn’t feel like a hotel, more like a one room apartment building. Not somewhere I would feel comfortable going again.”

“Location is very good and walkable to lots of good restaurants. In my case the downtown hotels were very expensive so the guesthouse seemed like a good deal in comparison. As long as you have expectations in check (it's a kitschy if not sort of an odd property) then I think it's a very solid choice. We found it to be clean and the staff tried very hard. My son was a little taken aback by it and didn't love the boarded up / semi burned building next door... That said it seemed like a safe……

“The room was spacious and immaculate. The food was delicious. The grounds and all well maintained. My only complaint is the beds are hard. “I almost lost my bag. In the end my coat was stranded at the hotel. I chose not to have my coat because I had a flight to catch. The service staff changed a few times, but none of them satisfied me. “Lovely property but in a state of flux with new ownership. Problems : no internet at all in our room. We reported it but it was not fixed. Some outlets not working or plug falls out. Bed was very uncomfortable…old and no support. Fewer room amenities than average hotel. Good: shower was nice and clean, sinks clean, room was clean etc. There was always great coffee in the lobby. Very nice places to sit and do work since we had no internet in the room. The breakfast was just so so.”
